Email

Q. Can I check my Email from home?

A. Yes! There are two ways to check your FirstClass email from home.
1. You may log in from the Internet by going to http://mac.psdr3.org/Login
Or
2. Use the links below to download the FirstClass Client Installer to your computer. The first time you run the client you will be asked for the name of an e-mail server to connect to. The name of the server to enter is mac.psdr3.org

Q. How do I reply to an email without all original recipients receiving it?

A. From the Message menu, go to Reply Special and choose Reply to Sender. Another option is to go to the Edit menu, then Preferences. From the preferences window, go to the Messaging tab. In the Reply Preference drop down box, choose Reply Sender instead of Automatic. Click OK in the bottom right corner. This will make all replies go to just the sender.

Q. How can I make my replies include the original message?

A. This can be done two ways.
1. From the Message menu, go to Reply Special and choose Reply with Quote.
Or
2. First highlight the part of the original message you want included in the reply, click the Reply button from the Message menu,. It will automatically be included in the reply.

Calendar

Q. How do I view someone’s FirstClass Calendar?

A. While you are logged into First Class, go up to Conferencing on the Menu Bar, drag down to Directory, and click and hold down on the name of the person whose calendar you would like to view. A dialog box will appear with the following options: (Resume, Open User Calendar, Create Mail To) Click on Open User Calendar.

Q. Can I add items to other users’ FirstClass Calendar?

A. Yes! There are two ways you can add items to another user’s calendar.
1. You may invite that user to an event. On your own calendar, add an event to your calendar and click on the Participants’ tab. Type in the person you would like to invite to that event and click in the box "Ask participants to respond". That will put that event on their calendar.

2. They can give you permission to add or delete to their calendar. You may call our office at 1050 for instructions.

Q. How do I make sure the items on my calendar do not expire in 90 days?

A. After you open up your calendar, go to Conferencing on the menu bar and drag down to Permissions. To the right of Item Expiry at the drop down box, change the setting to Never. Close that window.

Login Problems

Q. Why do I get the message "trying to locate server" when I try to Login?

A. On the Login window, make sure that the address next to Server is mac.psdr3.org. If it isn’t, click on the Setup button, go down to Server and put in that address. Click on Save. You should be able to login now.

Q. Who do I call when I can’t remember my password?

A. Call the Technology Department at 1050 and we can change your password to a generic password. Be sure to change your password once you login by going to Connection on the Menu Bar and drag down to Change Password.
